Frequently asked questions about this test
What is the Big Five personality model?
The Big Five (OCEAN) is the most widely validated personality model in modern psychology, with five broad dimensions: Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism. Each is a continuum — most people sit somewhere in the middle on each.
What is IPIP-50?
IPIP-50 is a 50-item public-domain Big Five inventory developed by Lewis Goldberg and the International Personality Item Pool (IPIP) project. Unlike commercial instruments, it's free to use and well-correlated with the longer NEO-PI-R.
How long does it take?
About 8–12 minutes for 50 items. There are no right or wrong answers; answer based on how each statement actually describes you, not how you would like to be.
Is the result clinically diagnostic?
No. The Big Five describes normal personality variation — it isn't a clinical diagnostic tool. The free report on Ravanbarvar is for self-reflection. If you'd like clinical assessment with structured tools, book a 90-minute assessment with one of our clinicians.
